Hundred Years Gallery is an exhibition space available to London-based and international emerging artists. Located in the heart of Shoreditch, around the corner from The Geffrey Museum and Hoxton’s new tube station, it is easily accessible to all interested in both contemporary art and the latest cultural trends of London’s East End.
Directed by Montse Gallego (artist and arts curator), Hundred Years Gallery is establishing itself as an influential platform for the arts, offering a varied exhibition and event program in tune with current cultural and political debates.
Hundred Years Gallery aims to deliver the presentation and production of innovative and ground-breaking art. To present all range of art forms – from the visual arts, digital, performance-based to installation.
The heart of our programme is to support our artist’s work, from inception to realization, in making significant steps to pursue new directions in their practice. Artists are given a platform to make ambitious new work in response to the gallery’s unique and informal spaces.
With our location in the York Row Council Estate, Haggerston, we can offer creative opportunities and experiences to local people of all ages and economic, social and cultural backgrounds. We aim to build stronger partnerships with the local community and provide this community with opportunities to interact and share their own inspiration through our free events program with each current exhibition.
Within the last two years the Hundred Years Gallery produced over 20 major exhibitions and up to 62 intermittent major live events from both local and international artists – with careers both established and emerging.
Hundred Years Gallery’s offers a cosy coffee corner and a shop where visitors can acquire affordable artworks such as multiples, design objects, artists´s books, etc., while a separate basement area provides an ample open plan space ideal for art exhibitions and events.
