Boy George brings Hollywood Glamour to East London Art Show.
Better known as a DJ and International Celebrity, Boy George will be showcasing his other creative talents as part of SYNTHESIS – an exciting collaborative exhibition taking place in the Electrician’s Shop Gallery .
For one night only he will adding his own photographs and screenprints to the other multi media work on display at this new gallery in East London.
When speaking about his passion Boy George said “photography is a way of capturing the past and the moment and redesigning it. I like the Hollywood approach to glamour. The camera tells great big lies and i love to make people look how they dream themselves to be”
Previously exhibited for the ‘Homotopia’ show in Liverpool in 2013, George was keen to add these pieces to this exhibition to show support to both established and emerging artists saying “we can all be inspired by raw talent, new artists are often fearless”
There are 12 other artists taking part Including John Humphreys a sculptor who has studied with the Royal Academy and has shown work around the globe bringing a twist of vision and a fresh approach to his practice, a much respected artist who is always forward thinking.
Tony Smith, a gold medal winner in garden design at the Chelsea flower show and has had his sculptures commissioned for Heathrow airport he uses an intellectual and determined approach to his art practice.
Other pieces include drawings, film, sculpture, art and photography by Sinclair Watkins, Daphne Bampanioti, Jane Woollatt, Gerald O’Dowd, Sally Anne Flanagan, Kevin O’Dowd, Natalia Jeznova, Anna Isaksson, Dean Stockings and Veronica Shimanovskaya.
The Private View will be on February 13th between 6.30pm - 9.30pm .
Entrance is free but visitors are encouraged to visit early to avoid disappointment.
