Join us for the opening of Unbridled, Unveiled - a night of splendor and suspension, rift and revelry as we present a site-specific installation by London artist Sarah Pager and sneak preview of the (re) construction site that in Spring 2011 will become the home of GALERIE8 in London Fields.
Entrancement awaits as Sarah Pager transforms a site bare of all but the most essential architectural necessities into a world of mythological imagining. Pager invites us to witness her 7 brides and their mirrors transcend the detritus of daily ritualistic life and form graceful figures that resist limitations and boundaries. The familiar becomes ethereal, and the relics of discarded domesticity shed their past and morph into graceful figures, weightless and whimsical.
(Venue is identifiable as a construction site. Press buzzer and if you are at the right place, door will open to reveal exhibition)
Sarah Pager recently completed her Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction at Chelsea College of Art and Design and is currently undertaking an MFA at Goldsmiths. She recently had a solo exhibition at Edel Assanti Project Space and her work has been shown throughout the UK including Ikon Touring and the ICA. Pager has also been shortlisted for the Future Map 2010 exhibition of the best emerging talent from the University of the Arts London.
