A one-day workshop with Fabrizio Manco and Rainer Knupp on the relationship between hearing and listening in the context of movement-based performance.

For artists, performers, dancers, actors and live artists interested in a physical and sensory approach.

Inlistening will begin with an Awareness Through Movement (ATM) lesson of the Feldenkrais Method.

In a typical ATM Feldenkrais lesson, movement sequences are being verbally directed. Comfortable and easy movements are being repeated and explored and gradually evolve into movements of greater range and complexity. Developing a greater kinesthetic awareness enhances creative exploration, allows fuller and freer expression and a deeper encounter with the environment.

This will be followed by movement parameters and improvisation through listening and drawing. Aural and visual perception is developed to enable performance. The explorations will be facilitated allowing time for both active observation and participation. Most of the exercises will be followed by a short discussion and the workshop will conclude with an open dialogue.
