Each June, in an apple orchard in Kent, a kind of magic happens. The desire of artists and the viewing public to create opportunities to discuss exhibited work is transformed into public critiques, orchard installations, moonlit performances and experimental stage building.
The underlying ‘theme’ of the event is discussion; therefore artists are encouraged to show work for which they would most like feedback, from both their peers and the public. 2010 sees 18 visual artists exhibiting work in the venue’s trio of stables and in the orchard.
For the past three years visual artists, poets, musicians and performers have gathered together for the event. FHF opening night, which features music, poetry and dance, is a hub from which a supportive and inspiring network of over 200 artists has grown, fostering new connections and collaborations.
