In my work I deal with the idea of creating a space, or a movement in space, with lines, geometrical shapes, and colour and I like to visualise the perfection and strength that lines, geometry and colour can produce.
The power in the emptiness and the void, as well as the trace and shape that is left behind in this process, fascinate me.
My interest lies in a strong and immediate situation and I utelise the materiality of paint, as well as the applied surface, as tools to create this situation and although some of these situations are realised flat on the wall or on canvas, they deal with three-dimensional realities.
In their formality one might consider my lines and spaces as abstract ideas, but they are not abstract because they are not reductions of anything. They are facts and traces of my mind that I leave behind.
