Valentina Miorandi

Valentina Miorandi (b. 1982, Trento, Italy) is a visual artist and has a B.A. in Theory and Practice of Theatre, University of Bologna (2005). She has won two fellowships for attending the M.A. in Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy (2006) and the M.A in Director of Photography at the Escuela Superior de Cinema y Audiovisuales de Catalunya (2007). She has been a Visiting Professor at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid (2007) and Universidad de Castlilla-La Mancha of Cuenca (2007). Since 2008 she has created numerous multi-media projects at various cultural institutions in Italy e.g. Fondazione Museo storico del Trentino (2008 – ongoing), MAG – Museo Alto Garda (2012), Bersntoler Kulturinstitut (2013). She has collaborated with international artists including Rosa Barba, Elisabetta Benassi, Stefania Galegati Shines, Marinella Senatore. One of her recent videos received the Milano Film Festival 2010 award. Recently her work “Beautiful Sign” bacame part of the collection of MART – Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto and was exhibited in the exhibition “Magnificent Obsession” (2013) and in 2013 she also won the Euromobile Prize at the Arte Fiera Bologna. Currently she is researching public art and social activism in London.
