Tom Dale

Born Kendal, UK 1974. A former Guardian newspaper ‘Artist of the Week’ writing about his work regularly appears in Flash Art, Art Review, Art Monthly, Time Out, and Dazed & Confused. A Graduate of the Goldsmiths Fine Art MA course in 2006, he recently completed a practice based PhD at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. A recipient of numerous grants and awards his work has been described by British Art show curator and Frieze critic Tom Morton as “An art of excess, carried out with formal restrain.” His current solo exhibition at the NIMAC, Cyprus, continues in this vein, presenting an ambitious new body of work which will be followed by new publication documenting his exhibitions there and at the John Hansard gallery, Southampton. It will feature texts by writer and Guardian critic Brian Dillon, Jon wood head of research at the Henry Moore foundation and Curator and Critic Jennifer Thatcher. He has forthcoming exhibitions at Centre for Contemporary Art, Christchurch, New Zealand and Museu de Arte de Brasília.
