Tiffany Watt Smith

Tiffany Watt Smith is a writer and cultural theorist interested in the history and politics of emotion. Her books include The Book of Human Emotions (Profile/Little, Brown, published in the UK and US, and translated into 6 languages) and On Flinching (OUP). She has been awarded grants by Leverhulme Trust, Wellcome Trust, British Academy, Arts and Humanities Research Council, Arts Council England, and Jerwood Foundation. In 2014 she was named a BBC New Generation Thinker.

She has a background in theatre making and curating, and from time to time collaborates on performance projects.

She teaches in the department of Theatre, Drama and Performance at Queen Mary University of London, where she is also a research fellow at the Centre for the History of Emotions.
