I established my practice in 2011, having completed formal training, a range of apprenticeships and projects delivered alongside leading lettercarvers and stonemasons. Passionate about letterforms and ephemera, excited by giving permanence to pop, I relish using this traditional craft to capture modern lives and engage a new audience.
At times seen as irreverent, my work challenges expectations of the form.
I have successfully delivered a range of private commissions, from small wall-hung pieces to large-scale work for international firms such as Linley Furniture. Site-specific experience ranges from conservation and restoration projects on ancient buildings and historic monuments, to a recent commission with the National Trust.
I am a Yeoman Mason of the Worshipful Company of Stonemasons and place great importance on maintaining links with the heritage of my craft. My work celebrates the UK’s incredible and diverse resource of native stone. Working with processes and skills that haven’t changed since Roman times, I only use traditional hand tools in my practice - from design through to finishing details.
