Simon creates installation environments, photographic works and designs for dance and theatre.
Commissions include his interactive web/performance piece WAVE STRUCTURES (Aldeburgh Festival), the video/performance workSEA HOUSE (Aldeburgh Festival and Venice Biennale) and installation/performance work HOPEFULLY IT MEANS NOTHING…which was presented at the Aldeburgh Festival and at the National Theatre.
As co-director (with Paul Burgess) of the arts company Scale Project, Simon has collaborated on site-specific performances in Harlow Town Hall, The Arches, Glasgow and in a Siberian nuclear bunker. Simon and Paul co-curated with Fatima Hussain a collaboration between 20 artists from Pakistan and the UK called SLICE.
Simon co-directed and designed the environment and software for 3rd RING OUT, an interactive performance that takes place simultaneously inside two shipping containers where audience voting determines the narrative that is experienced.
Simon recently created THE COMPETITION, an interactive environment with a durational performance inspired by sport.
