Bio:

I am an Australian-born artist established in London, UK with roots in Melbourne. My art is not constrained to one particular media, rather it explores the different materials, textures and artistic expressions by means of painting, sculpture, book artistry, illustration and drawing.

My paintings are ultimately about relationships; whether they be the tension and inter-reaction between objects in space or abstracted landscapes and figures which are broken down to the point where they are expressions of movement or decay. Underlying this is the essence of the emotions within the specific relationships.

Ambiguity of space is also of interest to me in exploring the decay of surfaces as things are continually transforming, be that building up or breaking down. In my drawings I explore this more clinically in black and white.

I like to capture the footprints of objects since gone but still energetically present. The egg symbol is also present in my work, especially recent sculpture, symbolising birth and rebirth, as well as potential of the universe – as in many ancient religions.

Other forms of expression are explored by means of linocut, etching and screen printing. I have also included a section on graphic illustrations and design, which I created and produced for commercial purposes.
