Melinda Matyas

Melinda Matyas is a contemporary artist based in London, UK. Growing up in the communist Romania as part of the Hungarian ethnic minority she had developed a sensitivity towards existential and emotional issues due to the territorial isolation and harsh political views in the country which have influenced her work during the years. Melinda earned her BFA in Painting in 2009 from the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca. She previously studied Byzantine Mural Painting in Bucharest between 2002-2007contributing to painting projects of 13 public buildings in the following years. Now she is living and working in London
