Lydia Pettit

Location: London

Lydia Pettit is a painter from Baltimore, Maryland, USA who makes work that straddles the gap between the historically masculine technique of figurative painting, and the often trivialised and feminised world of textile. These works utilize surreal disjointed compositions to emphasize the disorientation of PTSD through mixed materials and textures including patchwork, hand embroidery, and both flat and raised quilting. She is currently studying at the Royal College of Art pursuing her MA in Painting.
