Kimbal Bumstead

Location: London

I am a visual artist working in and between performance, video and painting. My projects deal with notions of home, identity and nomadism. The focus of my work is other people, their bodies and faces, and my relationship to or with these people. I work with family, lovers and strangers, to create intimate and sensitive works. My 2Dimensional work is based mostly on remnants of encounters during performances, whether that be photographs, video, stories, or drawings, and later large scale visceral paintings.
I have a Masters in Performance and Theatre from Queen Mary University of London and BA in Fine Art from Leeds University and the Academy of Fine Art in Krakow, Poland
