Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Jennifer Kaplan-Ortiz is an artist currently based out of London, England. After years of traveling in and out of the U.S with her family, Jennifer finally returned to her birthplace in 2002. Inspired by the colors and culture, this is where her love of art flourished, as she began shooting her surroundings.
She remained in San Juan for years to come, eventually leaving for River Forest, Illinois where she would go on to study Photography and Graphic Design at Dominican University in 2008. During her time at the University, with no experience, Jennifer signed up for a sculpture class, and her love for the art quickly grew. Her time in Dominican is where she began to incorporate her old love and new one, photography and sculpture.
Upon graduating Jennifer went on to have work published in several U.S Magazines including the Chicago Collection Magazine and Flea Market Décor Magazine. Throughout her time as a freelance photographer, Kaplan-Ortiz continually worked on her fine art and exhibited in group shows in Puerto Rico, U.S.A and London.
In 2013 Jennifer moved to London to begin her Masters in Creative Entrepreneurship from the University of East Anglia. She now is working towards achieving her degree, and continues to develop her craft in London.
