Jack Strange born Brighton 1984, graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2007. Working primarily with sculpture, video, performance, sound and drawing Strange makes a diverging range of work that playfully and humorously questions notions of sense. He often scrutinizes the act of making and how it can affect the consciousness and understanding of the everyday. Strange also evokes the enigmatic and esoteric by enquiring in how we identify and distinguish between the human and non-human and how or when these entities can become like the other, creating different emotional and conceptual experiences. Selected forthcoming and recent solo exhibitions include Limoncello, London, UK (2014), ‘g’, World Class Boxing, Miami, USA (2011), ‘Words In The World’, Casa Triângulo, São Paulo, Brazil (2011), ‘The Same as Usual’, Limoncelllo, London, UK (2010), ‘Not Really’, Maribel Lopez Gallery, Berlin, Germany (2009), ‘Wallowing’, Tanya Bonakdar Gallery, New York, USA (2008).
