As an artist printmaker I work predominantly with linocut and woodworking, making narrative driven artworks that explore the natural and built environments we inhabit. My work is inspired by observations and experiences from urban and rural settings in which I have lived, touching on many themes relating to community, population, sustainability, rational design and architecture, materials and craft. My interests centre around the structures and foundations of narratives, resulting in artworks that invite viewers to construct their own narratives and conclusions.
I trained as a graphic designer at Glasgow Metropolitan College and London College of Communication where I studied BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design specialising in Information Design. Since graduating I have focussed on continuing to develop and expand my skills as a maker, printmaker and organiser, finding original ways of making and showing work, and always seeking to acquire and share knowledge and skills through actively promoting education, collaborations, talks and workshops.
