Gemma Turner

Bio:

Gemma is a graduate of the BA Costume for Performance Course at London College of Fashion with 1st class honours. She is currently working freelance at Cosprop costumiers in London creating 18th Century pirate costumes for Disney’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean V’. She has a particular interest in historic costume and has previously worked at the Royal Opera House, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, on ‘Hetty Feather’ for the BBC, and projects for Basement Jaxx and Gandini Juggling at Anna Burns Studios. She also designed, produced, wrote and directed a short film adaptation of the novel ‘The Snow Child’, set in 1920’s Alaska, as part of her final degree project. She particularly enjoys working on a number of small independent projects including recent work on Melissa-Kelly Franklin’s short film ‘Portrait’ inspired by Pre-Raphaelite artists and their lifestyles.
Gemma is also an extremely keen illustrator, writer, performer and traveller.
