Clare French

Location: London

Clare French’s paintings operate as poetic objects that elicit a slow, engaged looking and affective response. French concentrates on organising surfaces that trace her labour, time and consideration, through a focus on process and a concrete use of materials as meaningful in themselves. Using repetition of actions and marks French generates unexpected ‘flaws’, uncertainties and transformations within her work.
