Camille Aboudaram was born and raised in Lyon, France (b. 1989), and is currently based in London, having just graduated with a BA in Photography and Illustration from the University of East London. She has exhibited in England, California and Portugal and self-published her first photobook (We are) the ghostly others in September 2014 (Lisbon, Portugal)
Camille works mainly within the genres of fine art and street photography, combining photography with illustration when relevant. She often experiments with pairing photography with drawing, sewing, and or with unexpected material/alternative printing processes.
In illustration, she uses a range of different mediums such as collage, hand-drawings, computer based illustration or stencils among others.
Camille’s work touches upon issues of marginality, identity and otherness, as well as popular culture and the idea of generations built on common references or values.
Poetry and humour are essential in her work.
