Bio:

Blair Zaye is an artist/curator originally from New Zealand with a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Auckland University, New Zealand and a Masters in Fine Art at Chelsea, based in London since 2008. Exhibited extensively all over the world from the UK to the US, Germany, Russia and New Zealand.

A multidisciplinary artist working in paintings, drawings, video, performance and immersive installation his work attempts to investigate the boundaries between; counter culture, urban art and post-graffiti, technology, neo-futurism, quantum physics, consciousness, the esoteric, spirituality, populism, human potentialism, the transcendental and the nature of realities.

Strong visual arts skills combined with sound experience in communicating with colleagues and customers/the public. Thrives on a challenge and willing to learn new skills while working in a stimulating environment that encourages ideas and creativity. Highly competent in completing successful events and projects, from the initial planning and administration stage through to production and post-evaluation within deadlines and budget, organizing over 70 shows and events. While also working with a number of high profile brands and companies, such as; Adidas, Captain Morgans, Moo, Amigos Tequila Beer, theprintspace, Hop House Lager 13, RAGYARD, East London Brewing Company, Sailor Jerrys, Ugly Drinks, Hire Frequencies, Quintain Ltd, Embraer and Boeing via promos and sponsorship for various events I have run as well as doing a number of commissions myself as an artist/designer. Experience with carpentry, painting and electronics using a variety of power and hand tools, working within creative environments such as galleries, stage, theatre and set as well as art department and props for film and T.V. Good interpersonal skills, comfortable in a leadership role and able to supervise staff with diverse abilities and personalities.

Recently while working as a curator/exhibition coordinator/art director on various projects; I have curated and manages events at ‘Breathing Room’, ‘The Hive’ and Façade spaces and have directed/curated/coordinated 'Illustrated World Series’ ‘FRESH’, ‘Projekt’, ‘Contentious’ ‘Showcase Cities‘ and ‘Fountayne Road Open Warehouse Day’ projects as a way to collaborate with artists and performers while curating popup shows offering a platform to a broad spectrum of creatives. I am the treasurer/creative director for New Zealand Studies Network, promoting New Zealand art and culture globally. I have worked with TEDxTottenham curating a exhibition of locally based artists to coincide with their talks and is an ambassador for Haringey Arts and am the founder/creative director of Fountayne Collective.
