Bhajan Hunjan

Location: East London

This duality of self and other, of private and public, of image and icon, of traditional and modernity is central to Bhajan's artistic project and finds further expression in her ability of move easily between different modes of artistic expression, sometimes representational, sometimes abstract. She defines this fluidity of approach as the urge not to draw strict boundaries, a vital assertion of freedom for a British woman artist ….
From working with people, Bhajan has slipped with the greatest of ease into shaping the spaces in which people can move and create. There is a prevailing humanism at the centre of her project.
