Bettina Fung

Location: London

Hong Kong born British Chinese artist Bettina Fung (Chinese name:馮允珊 Fung Wan Shan) creates two dimensional, sequential, performative and site specific work. Her practice is concerned with being and becoming, where drawing takes a predominant role and lines play an integral part. She is curious in areas of life that are deemed intangible or less defined. Concepts of reality, themes of ritual, liminality, altered states of consciousness, transcendence and mystical experiences are subjects of interest.
Originally trained in computer animation at Bournemouth University, Bettina has since worked as a video editor and now fully dedicates herself with her artistic practice. Bettina has exhibited throughout London, South East England and abroad. In April 2014, she was awarded the a-n Artist Information Company's New Collaborations Bursary to collaborate with designer Mike Kann to investigate the creative potential within the interplay between design, interactive and embedded technologies and traditional art methods.
