Aileen Kelly is a visual artist from Ireland. She is a studio practitioner based in London and often works in formal and informal educational contexts.
Fine Art Degree, University Of Ulster, Belfast. Post Graduate Certificate In Art Education, Goldsmiths College, London. Master Of Fine Art, Winchester School Of Art, England.
Aileen is dedicated to the materiality of art and the processes of art production. In this regard she recognizes the hidden value in making and sees meaning as a secondary concern. Aileen has exhibited widely in the UK and Ireland and has recently held a solo show in London. She is currently taking place in a residency in the Netherlands where she has completed a new body of large scale drawings which focus on the intensity of mark making as an abstract form of communication.
