The SE9 Container Gallery in Eltham is looking for volunteers to join as soon as possible. 

About us

The SE9 Container Gallery is an award-winning art gallery made from converted shipping containers. Situated in the school grounds of St Thomas More Catholic Comprehensive School in Eltham, this modern art facility exhibits the latest in contemporary art.

There is an on-going programme of exhibitions, talks and creative workshops for all to enjoy.  Part of our aim is to be a platform to connect the local community with contemporary art investigating a number of different of disciplines, as well as providing a space for students to display their work. About the role 

Volunteers will need to be available on Saturdays from 11-3pm during term time approximately twice a month. The purpose of this role is to invigilate the gallery, ensuring the security of the artworks and engaging with visitors regarding the exhibitions. Volunteers can also assist in keeping our social media channels updated.

Skills required:

  • Enjoy engaging with members of the public

  • Have an interest in the visual arts

  • Knowledge of social media (Twitter and Facebook) desired but not essential
