Lolana is a painter and printmaker living and working in London. Her work was exhibited at solo shows in The Houses of Parliament in 2013 and 2014. She has had a number of exhibitions and has also produced commissions and studio work. Her paintings are in private collections worldwide.
Lolana explores symbolic concepts using a variety of media such as oil, acrylic, collage, intaglio prints and etchings, creating her unique variable printmaking editions and distinct mixed media art. Her influences are many. In printmaking the greatest fascination were and still are Rembrandt's prints and etchings. The Surrealism fantasy and Expressionism subjectivity are influences too and, to a greater extent, contemporary Magic Realism. Her work has been praised for its powerful expressiveness and for conveying a profound emotional story.
Lolana's interest in art developed early and while art college, her work won prizes and featured regularly in college exhibitions. She continued her studies at the University of Belgrade and upon graduating with honours, at University of The Arts, London. An accomplished musician, she has studied piano from the age of eight. Lolana is a member of The Printmakers Council.
